NORTH CAROLINA β [NEW STATE] β RIGHT HERE
Right where you're meant to be
It’s 9:32 a.m., y’all, and here I am on the side of the road waiting more patiently than I have ever been for AAA. I’m in no rush, I have nowhere particular to be but home in my bed with my bernadoodle.
These are the kind of things I would normally rush. I’d be sitting here already with my thumbs twitching, my eyes rolling, the sighs endless, and the anger inside me fuming. [ BUT FOR WHAT? ]

One day when I was living in North Carolina, I was waiting in line at, I believe, a CVS. The line was particularly long, and the cashier seemed to be moving along pretty well. However, the people at the register were unaware of a line growing because they were more concerned with talking about their day and explaining the mishaps of whatever happened during their exchange.
There were a few people ahead of me, and you could hear some of them growing anxious, expressing it in their tone and conversation. Slowly, the line got shorter as some people stepped out in frustration.
A woman in front of me turned around and said: β€ "Ya know, I never rush these things because you are exactly where you are supposed to be and in the moment you’re supposed to be in.”
I pondered for a quick sec and then responded, "Huh! I never thought of that."
She turned bright-eyed and smiling and said, "Yeah, you never know what is happening, or what could have happened outside of this moment because you are where you are meant to be, right here right now. Why rush it?"

And ever since then, it stuck with me. We have such little patience for the things we want to do or see. Why do we not take the simple time to enjoy all the little things life has to offer, or the time that we are granted to just be in the moment?
Instead of complaining angrily, or feeling upset, try this:
ONE BREATH IN β ONE BREATH OUT
Focusing on that, let the rest dissipate. There’s a secret peace that comes with taking your time to find your center. It honestly takes work, another thing people want to do less of. I’m not sure how you think you can evolve without actively putting in the effort?
SHED THE MINDSET β FORGET THE KNOWN β EVOLVE
You have to shed pieces of yourself that no longer serve you. So here I am, proud, y’all! On the side of the highway, in a new town, in a new state, waiting patiently.
I hope everyone has a safe and beautiful Friday. We are coming up on the holidays, which always brings lots of cheer!
Until next time, —Nëb
